It all started in October 2020, when our founder, Anjali P Bhat visited her mother’s friend Savitha Madikeri in Coorg. They had a massive garden and Anjali was inspired by everything she saw there. The one that mesmerised her the most was preparing Kokedama.

She couldn’t wait to try it on her own as soon as she got home and when she did, it clicked like nothing else! Kokedama is a ball of soil and moss on which any plant can grow. Plants that grow on Kokedama don’t need pots; hence, they reduce the need for plastic pots. So it not only makes growing plants easy but also is environmental-friendly.

After getting her hands in the mud and understanding Kokedama and plants more, Anjali saw the gap in the market and an idea of starting a business around her passion sprouted in her brain. When she shared this idea with her husband, Pavan V Bhat, he not only watered this objective but also became her support system. Just like it takes a village to raise a baby, Anjali’s entire family stood through her dreams, and especially, her mom became the root of her tree with her helping hands.

That’s how Riddhi Plants started as an Instagram page and sales started through a selling platform, which eventually grew to having our own website, selling plants online, and moss wholesale and retail and adding our little bit to make this earth greener.

We strongly believe in a sustainable lifestyle and Riddhi plants is an initiative towards that.
